The Promised Neverland : Honest Anime Review



Hey guys!! Hope you are doing well… It’s been a while that I haven’t posted any blog. But yes, I am back with a review on Promised Neverland. There are some spoilers in Our Opinion section. Rest of the sections are spoiler free...

Plot : Surrounded by a forest and a gated entrance, the Grace Field House is inhabited by orphans happily living together as one big family, looked after by their "Mama," Isabella. Although they are required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit, usually playing outside, as long as they do not venture too far from the orphanage — a rule they are expected to follow no matter what. However, all good times must come to an end, as every few months, a child is adopted and sent to live with their new family... never to be heard from again.
However, the three oldest siblings have their suspicions about what is actually happening at the orphanage, and they are about to discover the cruel fate that awaits the children living at Grace Field, including the twisted nature of their beloved Mama.

Our Opinion : Anime starts with giving positive vibes about the orphanage, for example : showing a caring Mother who looks after each child, children showing loads of compassion for each other as if they are a family, etc. All these instances shows how good the orphanage is but the truth is far from what’s shown. Each episode of the anime unfolds this truth one by one about the orphanage in a very systematic manner. The slow unveiling part of the anime makes you addicted to it. As it proceeds, you never realise that the anime has turned so dark and that’s the best part of it.

Next thing which I found commendable was the escape plan and the well justified planning and plotting to execute it. I feel this was the most awesome part of the anime. Other than this, almost every important character was given proper attention with some side story involving them. Animation and sound are pretty decent too.


As this was the first season, there are many unresolved mysteries which might get confusing or irritating sometimes.

Final Verdict : This anime is truly a gem. I don’t find any reason for not watching this anime except if you are only into romance or similar genre. But still, you can give it a try. For other people, I definitely recommend this anime.
